If you think you have been involved in a Villa del Palmar Resale Scam or if you had a close call, there are some steps you can take. The Villagroup have recently stated that they are working towards finding ways to stop the occurrence of Villa del Palmar Resale Scam in conjunction with the ARDA (the American Resort Development Association) and federal law enforcement units.
The first step to take is to report the resale scam to members services at Villa del Palmar to notify the department of the details of the scam. Although Villa del Palmar cannot file a claim on your behalf, the information is used to warn other timeshare owners who might also be targeted by the scam.
If you have been directly involved with a resale scam, you should then contact the authorities to give a first person account of what happened. The first authority to contact is the Federal Trade Commission where you should make a complaint with the Business Fraud Division by calling 1-877-382-4357. Then report what happened to the Attorney General’s Office in your home state and the American Resort Development Association (ARDA). Finally, keep members services informed of how your case is proceeding, especially if you are contacted with additional materials from the fraudulent resale scammer.
